I've spent nearly three decades working in professional audio, live events and venue management, and Noise Worx is the result of a career built around one thing: a genuine passion for great sound.
My experience has taken me from technical roles and live sound engineering to running audio businesses, managing two events venues and a nightclub, and working on festivals, events and tours across the UK.
I've worked in all sorts of environments and faced just about every kind of challenge that comes with professional sound. That experience has taught me that there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach. Every venue, event and client is different, and the best results come from understanding exactly what is needed and then getting the details right.
That's what I bring to Noise Worx.
Where it started
My ambition to run my own professional audio business has been with me since my early days in the industry.
After college, I began my career as a technician with my local authority, working across three prominent venues. It was an invaluable start, giving me hands-on experience and an understanding of the many different demands of the entertainment industry.
From there, my career developed across different parts of the professional audio industry and into a wide range of roles and projects. I've founded and operated businesses specialising in the sales, installation, repair and maintenance of professional audio equipment, building up practical experience that you simply can't get from a manual or a classroom.
Sound, events & touring
As my career developed, live sound engineering became a major part of what I do. I've worked on festivals, events and tours across a wide range of genres, taking on both the technical and creative sides of live sound. It's work that demands preparation, problem-solving and the ability to stay calm when things don't go according to plan.
Over the years I've developed a particular interest in acoustics, system design and getting the most from the equipment available.
I use measurement and modelling tools to help design, set up and optimise systems, but technology is only part of the process. Experience, careful listening and attention to detail matter just as much.
Ultimately, the goal is simple: Make it sound right.
The other side
Let's not forget that I'm also a buildings custodian, and have partnered with venues throughout my career. I've managed stages and venues, including nightclubs, giving me valuable experience from the other side of the industry.
Managing venues has given me a much broader understanding of what clients, performers, production teams and venue operators actually need from their production and technical systems.
It has also given me a valuable appreciation of the practical demands involved in running venues and events — from the building and infrastructure through to the production, technical systems and people who make everything happen.
That experience has become an important part of how I approach every Noise Worx project.
Noise Worx today
Today, Noise Worx provides professional audio, lighting and production services, alongside equipment hire, leasing, installation, maintenance and repair.
My work has taken me across a wide range of venues and events, and I've had the opportunity to work with people from many different parts of the entertainment and events industry.
Whether it's supplying equipment for an event, designing and installing a complete sound system, repairing existing equipment or providing technical support, I approach every job in the same way:
Understand what the client actually needs, find the right solution and make sure the job is done properly.
